met with the florist today!

I spent about 3.5 hours with my florist today and it was so much fun! I'm actually rejecting the idea of having "set in stone" colors and I'm going for an array of different ones. First I'll show you which pictures I showed her and then I'll show you what she put together. Keep in mind we are using branches, dahlias, peonies and cymbidium orchids. She only had roses and orchids and blush peonies in stock.

Here are the pictures that I love right now (obviously with my brain, it could change!) Basically with these pictures I wanted to show her that I'm not afraid of mixing up colors and I want bright punches because I think it will look great in the pictures!

With these pictures, we're going to try and recreate the winter branch look and there will be tons of candlelight.

As for my bouquet, I wanted something simple and classic with a punch of color in the middle.

Here's what we came up with just fooling around in her shop - we're doing a couple of super tall centerpieces for the head table with branches, green orchids and hanging votive candles.

She only had roses in the shop, but the color combination is really unique. I think there's a bit too much green, but the other colors are really great. She had a few blush peonies that I went gaga for, they will definitely be in my bouquet!

1. i am SO jealous that you are going to use those peonies in your bouquet.....to.die.for.
2. thank you thank you thank you for posting the first (top) picture. it is THE perfect mix of plums and raspberry that I have been looking for and i am in love with it. what flowers are those!?
3. i agree with the your comment of having a little too much green in those arrangements...especially if you are going to do the tall arrangements of green orchids.
4. sorry this comment is so long...but i obviosuly loved this post of yours!!

3.5 HOURS!? Lynn, you are nuts and I love you. I met with a florist for, literally, 25 minutes. I didn't bring any pictures. I just said, 'I don't like carnations, I don't want anything that looks like a fern, I love love love green.' It worked out. :)

Keep the posts coming! This is great!

I love love love it! That's exactly what I did for my wedding, I should send you some pictures of the flowers. Very similar to the second to last pic....used deep pinks, blueish purple, lime green , and tangerine. No one said you had to have a two-toned wedding. :)
